WRITING FOR A LIVING, ANYONE?
We have a new addition to a list of writers in our family. Athira is now a regular contributor to the NST's pull-out, Niexter. The first two articles received only a minimal editing from the Online Assistant editor himself, although the sub-editor got her name wrong for the second piece.
She almost gave up but is back to writing. this time, a moview review which is expected to be published next week.
Apart from me, Pak Long Zakaria is also a writer, contributing to several magazines and running a blog.
Pak dolah owns a website and is an official blogger. Both of them are quite keen but I am the only one holding a permanent post in a newspaper.
Auntie Ida used to wqrite regularly to NST many years ago. I keep the cuttings of her ramblings on reality.
Would like to see the others, especially the young ones, writing for NST or any of the Malay newspapers in the country.
They may have the talent but never get down to business. Who knows, my nephews and nieces can even write better than their uncles.
