CHERISHING A SATURDAY

Maybe, it's the music but I am feeling a little sentimental tonight. With a potpourri of traditional songs from different countries playing in the background, I can't help thinking what my son, Shahrul is doing in Serting. I don't expect him to call as we had just spoken last night, but as I looked through the glass door to the garden, my mind wandered off several years ago when the kids were playing outside on a Saturday. The boy would play badminton with the sister or running around. Just when the mother was about to call them in, one of them would be crying after a quarrel. But kids are just kids. My little girl, Adrin is sleeping on the couch and Athira is...well on the desktop, playing games and chatting. I promised to take them swimming tomorrow morning and I intend to keep my promise.
